During a holiday, especially in the countryside or small town USA "and always in the charming shops or homes connected to the artisans themselves. Pack a lunch and plan a day of visiting local shops, hiking and picnicking. Fall is especially nice for the excursion boats. The campaign is full of color and Halloween and Christmas crafts are on the screen! Do not forget your camera!
Another source of crafts are made by disadvantaged artisans, especially in third world countries. There are many talented artisans whose works are sold in stores and online. Some are sold through the non-profit organizations, while others are imported and retailed by nonprofit companies. Fair Trade organizations provide certification of some organizations and companies that maintain their standards of fair trade practices. You can visit some of these fair trade organizations online to learn more about them. Many other companies that are not certified, but artisans gives them a fair wage and help make a real difference in the quality of life of its Crafter's! While abroad do not forget to visit the many craft markets open where you can meet the artisans and find some good shopping!
When planning to purchase furniture, gifts and collectibles to be considerate of the needs of those around us, whether a local craftsman, an artisan disadvantaged in Africa or the environment. In the end, it will be more grateful for your purchase and give pleasure to others.
